TESTIMONIALS

Date: Oct. 2005

Congratulations to everyone at USSSC for putting together a highly successful event in Santa Cruz. I've seen a lot of kids and adults sporting their US Sand Soccer shirts around town and asking about future events. Everyone had a lot of fun. With the dedicated effort of your staff and the high level of competition in the area, I imagine you can expect to grow at the same rate as Virginia Beach (www.sandsoccer.com), which started with 26 teams and now has over 650, along with a handsome purse, and international competition. Thanks for helping to grow the sport in the U.S. and I look forward to participating in your next event.

Wanted to extend my compliments and gratitude for the tournament in Stinson Beach. Great to watch, great fun, great energy, great for the town. I live in town and just stumbled into the games. Best sporting event I have watched in years. I have raved about it to everyone. -Thank you very much for your most excellent event, thank you for bringing in all those wonderful people and thank the athletes for their fabulous skills. Hope to see you next year.

Thanks again,

Bill Scott, Stinson Beach-CA

"U.S. Sand Soccer Championships created a new ambitious and attractive beach soccer tournament that helped my players to develop a higher level of technical and tactical skills. We are looking forward to next year's tournament in Santa Cruz.

Wishing you much success!"

"It's a fun and fast-paced game. All the parents were very excited to watch!"

- Soccer mom from Eureka

"I've been coaching competitive youth soccer for 14 years and never been to a beach soccer tournament before. We had a blast and the girls were so thrilled that we signed up right away for the Santa Cruz Tournament in June 2007.

- Sacramento Head Coach

"It was a true team experience to participate in the 2nd Annual U.S. Sand Soccer Championships. Our boys team had so much fun and at the same time improved their game understanding and learned a new game. They keep talking about it at practices and to their friends. They cannot wait until the 3rd Annual. We also hope that you will do some clinics around California.

- San Jose Boys Coach

"Well presented and planned. Santa Cruz Main Beach is just the right place to make that tournament. We had a very good time. See you next year!"

- Father from Fresno

"Our trip to the U.S. Sand Soccer Championships this summer was quite relaxing and fun. While the boys trained and played on the beach, we parents had the perfect front row view over the fields. I have never been to a tournament that had so many spectators around each field and such a lively atmosphere. It was unbelievable!

- Parent from Reno

"Well organized tournament in Santa Cruz style. Very high level of energy and competition in the men's division. The U.S. Sand Soccer Championships' effort to promote the sport in California will not only benefit the sport itself, but also the U.S. Beach Soccer National Team. (9 players out of 12 were picked in the Santa Cruz tournament)."

- National Beach Soccer Player

"I have worked with these guys since they started arranging this tournament in Santa Cruz. They are very organized and efficient and yet know how to keep the tournament festive and fun. It has been a pleasure getting to know them as well. They have great attitudes and keep the kids in mind, which is important."

- Santa Cruz local

"The teams in the U.S. Sand Soccer Championships are always of high caliber and I like the diversity in it too. It's really wonderful how they enable all children to participate regardless of their situation. Our children were exposed to good cultural diversity, and made some new cool friends. The U.S. Soccer Championships definitely allows you to broaden your own knowledge and understanding of others, which I think is important.

- Watsonville Coach

"Our experience with the U.S. Sand Soccer Championships in Santa Cruz was outstanding. This was our second year to participate and we can't wait to sign our teams up again for 2007. The U.S. Sand Soccer Championships is truly worth the money, because you don't only learn how to play beach soccer, but it's fun and an amazing atmosphere.

- Soccer dad from San Francisco

"Every year we are there we feel cared for and the organizers are really friendly too, which is important to us. Treating our parents and players with respect is essential in us coming back year after year. I've been to a lot of tournaments in my life and it's really rare to come across a tournament that really cares about the kids and everyone else."

- East Bay Coach

"Every morning my kids could not wait to get down on the beach. At night after dinner they were ready to return to the beach and practice! They had so much more fun at this beach soccer tournament than they have ever had at any other tournaments. The way the game is played, my kids just had a blast and never realized how much they had learned until they went to play on grass again."

- South Bay Assistant Coach

"I think this tournament will be a new Santa Cruz Landmark!"

- Local Santa Cruz Volunteer

"This tournament is awesome! How can you beat the combination of playing soccer on the beach, the ocean, the Boardwalk and just having fun?! We had an awesome time... all players and parents alike. We look forward to playing again in 2007 and hope it will continue forever!

- Central Valley Girls Coach

Last year the De Anza Force 96 Girls participated in this FUN tournament and we all had a blast. Unlike the tournaments we usually bring our teams to, whether they are near Disneyland, Sea World or Circus Circus, the Pro-Am Beach Soccer Championships take place right between the Pacific Ocean (Sand Castles, Boogie Boarding, Frisbee Throwing) and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (Giant Dipper, Double Shot, Cyclone, Wipeout, Typhoon, etc...).

How many times have you been in these situations with your team?

1. You are playing a major tournament near an awesome amusement park but you can't have your team go together because of the hassle of driving back to the hotel, and then to the park, and you can only stay a couple of hours (even though you paid for a day pass for 2-4 people) because your team has another game later that day.

2. You are the coach and take your own family to the amusement park (since your child is not on the team) and find one of your players there. You don't know how to feel at that moment, since it is a great place to go, but he or she will be tired at the semifinal game later that afternoon.

3. You name the next situation...

At the Santa Cruz Beach Soccer Championships, you park your car ONCE. Your players will have fun playing on the sand (5 vs. 5 with Goalkeepers); after the first game your team WILL HAVE FUN TOGETHER, either at the Beach or on the Rides. They will probably get a bit tired prior to their next game, but so will the other team, since they'll also be having fun (therefore the game will be fair)...

Your team will have a great time!
